Stanford University, which has been working closely with Apple and dedicated to online education in recent years, recently announced a partnership with the social learning network Piazza to provide a free online learning platform starting June 25th, teaching people from all over the world how to write their own iOS apps. Classes will run from June 25th to August 27th, a two-month app development course, with registration open until July 6th at the latest. iTunes U is Apple's long-established education channel, offering free access to in-person courses from top universities around the world, such as Harvard, Stanford, and Yale, via iPhone, iPad, or iTunes (Mac, Windows). Some schools also provide complete course manuals, lesson plans, and slides for download, allowing students to learn alongside the videos. Aside from the lack of real-time synchronization, students enjoy almost the same educational resources as the students at the respective universities. Piazza is a recently emerging community-based educational network. Its founder, Pooja Sankar, was born in India and immigrated to Canada with his parents as a child. His father later returned to India after obtaining a degree in the United States, giving him a deep understanding of the lack of educational resources in some areas. Leveraging his development expertise, Pooja founded Piazza, a community learning platform that provides access to more educational resources worldwide.
