Ban all trophy hunting in Alberta

The tragic death of a black bear in Alberta at the hands of trophy hunter Josh Bowmar sparked global media coverage and public outrage. The suffering of the bear was clear to see, as was the twisted, gleeful response of Mr. Bowmar to the animal's misery.

But wild animals suffer in all trophy hunts, where high wounding rates and inhumane killing methods are the norm. Trophy hunting is a senseless, cruel blood sport that abuses animals and degrades our society.

Please join HSI in urging the Government of Alberta to prohibit all trophy hunting and take immediate action to ban spears and baiting of animals.
