Wild animals need stronger protections
Billions of wild animals are traded every year for commercial, medicinal, and hunting trophy purposes, and demand for the rarest and most threatened species is growing despite dwindling numbers of these precious creatures. The 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) is quickly approaching—a forum at which nearly every country in the world comes together to decide how much protection from trade is offered to endangered and threatened species.

This year, protections for sharks, pangolins, and lions could be increased, but we need your strong voice to help these precious animals. You have the power to urge the U.S. - a strong voice in CITES - to support this year’s proposals to increase protection and to oppose proposals that could weaken safeguards for animals.
